University of Southern Mississippi Information

The University of Southern Mississippi, referred to casually as Southern Miss, is an open examination college situated in Harrisburg, Mississippi. The University of Southern Mississippi was established on March 30, 1910 as Mississippi Normal College, an educator preparing school. In Fall 2006, The University of Southern Mississippi committed a 4 story, multi million dollar expansion to its R.C. Cook University Union. The Thad Cochran Center now houses a 2 story Barnes and Noble Bookstore, three dance floors, a stadium style theater, understudy association workplaces, and Southern Miss Dining and Fresh Food Company.
